Hello Everyone

My name is Kiedeerk, some of you may have seen my post in the general market place selling my DIY formicariums.
I am also active on the ant keeping discords especially in the DIY section.
I have been keeping ants for many years and have gotten into DIY last year after finding out how expensive some of the other brand products like AntsCanada and Tarheel ants are.
I have gotten pretty good at making DIY nests. I have written some guides in the past but decided to do an overhaul and start a guide series on all the styles of formicariums
I make. I will still be selling some of my DIY formicariums for reduced prices on the general market forum for those who do not want to get into DIY. Trust me, DIY will save you hundreds/thousands of dollars if you are currently buying from the brand names above. My guides are open to public however, if you are going to share it please ask and give me credit thanks. Please reach out to me for any questions or comments or find me on discord @kiedeerk

Ok now for the actual fun part:

I will be updating this post as I make my guide series. Right now, I have made these guides below:

Please see attached word documents

Enjoy DIY

Best,
Kiedeerkants

If anyone want to see a type of nest made. If I can I will make it and update the guide. Next on list is probably a multilevel/sided nest

These guides are excellent. I would enjoy seeing the process for a large horizontal nest big enough for a mature colony. How brittle is this material? Are you cutting your own glass for these?

This material is very strong like concrete. I do cut my own glass with a cheap glass cutter

Kudos for doing this, dude!

I made my 1st formicarium and enjoyed doing it a lot.

Soon I'll have to do some nesting chambers and your documents couldn't have arrived at a better time!

Can I give you 2 little suggestions?

- Save the document as a PDF, it's the universal file for this type of things. Someone above couldn't open this on their phone, and the PDF would solve this. I'm using Linux so I don't use Microsoft Office, the software I use is good enough but sometimes things get weirdly out of place.

It's also harder to adulterate, no one will modify it unintentionally, by mistake, and share it altered.

- Add to those documents some contact of yours so it's easier to find you and contact you for questions, corrections and suggestions. Credit to whom it is very due! ;)

But in general, this is very well done and absolutely precious! Many thanks once again!! (y)

Edited to add: I'm not seeing the attached files any longer. Could the OP have removed them, or could it be server side problems?
