It is a piece of vinyl tubing with mesh on one end. You can use it for water or liquid food or ventilation.

It can be pretty useful. Since ants can’t directly drink out of the water tower it can be useful to provide drinking water.

Nestmates are very useful.
"The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Prov. 30:25
Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.

Think of them as drinking fountains for ants. They work! You can also use them as a ventilation port if you leave the outer end uncorked.
