This is a video I made before I joined the forum. I never uploaded it to youTube, just sharing it with friends. In it I describe in a kind of joking way how one of my ants seemed to get PTSD because of some BS that was all my fault.
I watched her until the paint wore off and I could no longer tell which one she was. But, she definitely was more sensitive to "danger" triggers reacting with her signature "roll up in a ball for 15min to one hour" power move.
I would have liked to know how long that reaction lasted.
I also wish I understood why they attacked her at first. Was it because she was gone for over a week.
(please note in this video I only captured the tail end of the "attack" I was so freaked out I couldn't film, trying to decide if I should try to collect her again, or if that would make it worse)
I wonder if there were any actions I could have taken to make them less likely to attack her. The paint obviously didn't help. But, maybe something like putting her in a little cage so she could sit and absorb the local colony smell, I could put her in an empty nest mate, for example.
