1. Location (on a map) of collection: Northern Maryland
2. Date of collection: July 20 6:15 am
3. Habitat of collection: pool cover
4. Length (from head to gaster): 5mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: all black
6. Distinguishing characteristics: looks like a selonopis molesta queen but the colors off
7. Distinguishing behavior: she was really thirsty when I got her so I think she flew last night and got stuck on the pool cover.

If she’s very shiny black, I think you have Monomorium minimum there.

Are we sure this is not Temnothorax pergandei?
Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
