Update:
Took some photos of them and their seed pile. Their pupae from last update has mostly enclosed and the next batch is on its way!

Chopped sesame and hemp hearts are good ones for them.

Update:
These guys continue to grow in workers. They have a big larvae pile that they hang from the celling lol. You can see in the right of the mini hearth above the water tower. It’s slightly out of focus and there is a wall of sand covering a lot of it.

Here’s a better angle of some of their brood.

Edit: look above the water tower, you may have to zoom in.

I cranked the heat up to 70 F and now there are at least 20 workers foraging at one time.

Update:
Decided not to move these guys yet. The pictures doesn’t do their pupae pile justice because of the glare. The pupae pile is probably the size of half of my thumb. I’ve been feeding the about a dozen large feeder flies a day along with seeds and fish flakes. Super exited for the new ant season! I expect a ton of growth this year.

Been keeping ants since January of 2021

Always try new things, even if its hard, hard is not impossible. We are smart and it's good to be smart but not too smart for your own good.

Update:
We’ve had a large growth of workers! I can’t tell how many there are but there are definitely more than last time I updated this. Over vacation I was away so they didn’t have very much larvae when I came back. They did however have a lot of new workers and a lot of pupae. I’ve been back to feeding them a bunch for a week now and the queen has started laying a huge batch of eggs. Super exited to see how much growth this colony has had!
