Oh man is THAT what's gonna happen to the slowly growing white blob I can barely peep out in the test tube portion of my girl's setup? It's only about the size of a tic tac right now, you got a full peanut in there. With the shell  :o

Update:
I just moved them! There getting pretty easy to move now. They have somewhere between 50-70 workers. And the queen keeps laying eggs! I’ve found two dead workers is assume that these are the nanictis. Here’s a photo of them this isn’t all the workers though there are probably 20 in the outworld.

It’s really been two months since I’ve updated…
I never really hibernated these guys sense they never stopped growing. I also read that there are not negative side effects. I moved them into a THA mini hearth XL after they filled up their test tubes. I can’t wait until next season when I can go out and collect food for them so they can grow even quicker. I’ll update this around March when ants start coming out. And merry Christmas :D

How sensitive is your colony to vibrations?  Asking because if I even boop mine's tube they go wild.

They’re pretty sensitive, they don’t freak out as much as they used to when they were smaller.

Likely stuck sand on the glass due to condensation. My advice would be, make sure you have you heat source opposite the water tower. Also make sure not to over water the water tower itself. (Only needs to be 1/2 to 3/4 full at most.)

Also cover the glass with something dark, so they don’t stick anything to the glass to block light. Tetramorium hate light.

Update:
Okay I know I said another update in March but it looks like they decided to start booming again. I checked up on them an all of their previous larvae pupated and they have a new large batch of larvae. I’ve been feeding them obsessively for the past few days and I think it really helped. Turns out they are a fan of jelly and sesame seeds!

My tetra girls are definitely still sending foragers out all day long even at 50-55f in the wine cooler. They're doing fine with just a small bit of protein every ten days or so, but I'm sure they'd be eating nearly normally too if I let them. hungry girls lol
