So I've been keeping a lasius Claviger queen since 2019 and she has finally got some bio workers!She was my only queen and her introduction method was a bit special, so I had a queenless colony of lasius americanus (lost their queen some months before introducing Claviger) and some months after getting her, she had laid some eggs!(got in March 2019 so I had no need for diapause. Then they became larvae and some workers enclosed. Sadly that brood didn't survive tho I gave them many host brood,then the colony started to die out but I didn't loose hope yet...

Summer 2020, Found many many lasius cocoons which I introduced to my queen and her few hosts alive, the queens has now 70 hosts. In August she started laying eggs and they enclosed about a month after (weird) but it was time to get em to sleep so that's what I did, they were in diapause for 3.5 months.

march 2021, larvae are starting to spin into cocoons!!! There's about 10-13 of them but I didn't had any host cocoons so the first and second cocoons were opened to early and one was ate...

26 March, first cocoon was successfully opened!!!! And the worker survived for 48h! Second bio enclosed from the cocoon a day after and the other surprise was that the early opened worker did survive!!!!

April 10, I'm trying to get host cocoons so the other cocoons can hatch easily and without danger of getting killed, fourth bio enclosed too!!! The first three bios are caring for young brood and hosts are caring for the cocoons and the hosts are starting to die so I'll have to get a few more cocoons to get em going but most hosts are still strong and going good

Awesome! You are now one of the very few to have raised this species to workers! Hopefully they don't die!

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies. 

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
