My name is sheldon, and first of all I am so excited to keep ants! I ordered a formicarium as soon as I saw the world of ant keeping. I ordered "peice of haven" from tarheelants. It is a great formicarium.. after about a week of searching I stumbled upon pheidole sp. colony. it was a mature colony and I had found their brood chamber, along with 5 queens and tons of workers. I quickly put them into test tubes and brought 5 queens and workers and brood home and put them into the formicarium. I wasn't sure if I could keep such a big colony in test tubes, They adapted well and immediately tended to the brood and hid it in the chambers. all the queens are grouped up together so I think its going good! that's enough about that. I am very happy to be part of such a cool community and I will frequent this site alot! Hopefully good things come from this colony! thanks guy!
