This little fella was crawling in some sand near our pond. I have no idea what he (or she) is?

I’d say it’s over an inch in length, maybe closer to an inch and a half.

I can’t stand crickets. They are the only insect that really scares me. I can’t really explain why.

God I hate crickets. The one insect that I can’t stand. Ever since that one summer night. I never wore that shirt again.

It's really funny how many antkeepers have strange insect phobias.

Me? Really just the pest species of roaches. I stand on a damn chair and scream for my husband. And he's like "but you *raise* roaches"

he just doesn't get it. I don't like how they move. *shudder*

(also I think that cricket is adorable)

My insect phobia is weird too. I hate Katydids. I just can't stand the way they look.

Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.

YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): Camponotus irritans inferior, Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, Nylanderia sp., Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

That is one really nice looking mole cricket. I rarely see that colour around. Normally i see a more darker brown colour. They weird me out when you hold them in your hand and some kinds bite. But fun to watch on the ground. They turn up in the most weirdest of places here in Australia. Under rocks or in a water tank, no idea why xD.
