Any chance the camponotus with the orange gaster is chromaides? I just posted in the general forum about my son’s queen; in short, she is almost surely going to die and I feel awful about it. So I am hoping to find a nice chromaides colony if/when this one goes belly up. Anyway, I thought maybe I had seen a picture of Chromaides that was more orange than red, but I’m pretty ignorant of this stuff. At most my identification abilities normally go about as far as, “yep, that’s an ant alright.”
EDIT: oops, just noticed the California buyer only part. My bad.
