Caught: August 21, 2015

Update: September 14, 2015:

Camponotus Sayi that I found, of all the places, chilling in a trashcan. She had a couple workers though I only managed to grab one with her. I had no idea how she'd turn out, but I've been keeping her fed and trying to leave her alone and she seems to be doing pretty good. Already she has one very large larva and 5 or 6 little yellow eggs.

Very nice!  She's probably glad you rescued her from that trash can. :D

Just a little note on Latin: words like pupae and larvae are the plural forms of pupa and larva.

Current Species:
Camponotus fragilis

Novomessor cockerelli

Pogonomyrmex montanus

Pogonomyrmex rugosus

Manica bradleyi

Yeah, realized when I got up from my computer something bugged me about the post. I meant to say larva to begin with.

Some lovely little cocoons present now. I'm really excited to see this queen doing pretty well and I can't wait to see those pupae eclose.

Got up to six workers, but when I moved them into a grout nest... three of them disappeared... Fixed where I thought they got out of, but queen died a week or two later. Discontinued.

Tell me about it. Was hoping to have a lovely colony of them to make everyone jealous!
