Hello everyone

I am an ant hobbist and really enjoy making formicariums

I am willing to take a few orders at a time. This is my hobby and not my full time job. Sometimes, I am busy with real life and may take some times before I can complete a nest. I can not promise I am able to make certain nest. I can also create custom size formicarium if anyone is looking for specific sizes and dimensions. I will mostly Horizontal style nests although cavern style and vertical nest can be made as well. I will also only make larger nests: smallest 4x8 inches up to 8x10 inches. I can make smaller nest like 4x4 but you will have to combine with a larger nest because of shipping see below.

The limitation is the shipping cost. I will only use USPS medium ($16) and large flat rate boxes ($22) because these nest are heavy and if shipped conventionally it will cost too much for shipping to justify selling them at all. If you buy two and they fit nicely and safely within a box then you save on shipping.

I will only make the nest it self and will not make outworlds as the acrylic containers are very easily cracked during shipping.

shipping is usually between 8-10$ i think. its just that the formicariums are made from ultracal/hydrstone and are decently heavy.

 

I would lower the prices if I could but lowering any further would make it really not worth the time and effort.

 

I could however do bundle discounts if purchase more than one and ship together probably save money

Is the paint you are using on the outside of these formicaria waterproof?  If I were to place the formicarium on a wooden shelf and accidentally overwater it so that the plaster became saturated with moisture, would it seep through and cause rot on my wooden shelf?

For short periods of time no it shouldn’t but if you constantly expose the nest to water it will degrade
