Anochetus finally has a worker! Pics coming very soon (It's hard to take a picture of them because they keep hiding away from me.). Here's how long it took from egg to worker: egg to larva 3 days, larva to pupa 7 days, pupa to worker 14 days, egg to worker 24 days.

Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.

YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): Camponotus irritans inferior, Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, Nylanderia sp., Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

Even if I am able to find another queen I probably not able to give it to you because of MCO. Lol I know you're just joking.  :D

Everyone, Technomyrmex are back!!! So, my dad bought some mangosteen (a type of fruit) and with it come with a LOT of ants, I found only Dolichoderus and Technomyrmex workers but after a little while, I spotted a Technomyrmex alate and I quickly checked all the fruits, and in one of them there was a nest of Technomyrmex with brood and alates! At first, I thought this was only a satellite nest so I put all the ants in a petri dish to see if there was a queen. After most of the ants and their brood are placed in the petri dish, I started to worry that there was no queen and all of a sudden she appeared. Right now they are still in the petri dish but I will move them to a test tube later. The colony consists of 10-15 workers, 1 queen, 5 female alates, 1 male alate, some brood (most of them are female alate pupae and young larvae) and possibly intercastes.

Now I did promise all of you pictures of the Anochetus so here it is.

Edit: In case you don't know, the worker in the pic is her second worker, not her first. (It's hard to get a pic of the first one

And here's a pic of the new Technomyrmex (they're still living in a part of the mangosteen (I don't know what that part is called).). I wonder if this colony is even going to survive.  :/ .

Checked the Monomorium today, no workers yet but two of her pupae has darkened and should be eclosing soon.

I know it isn't Friday yet but since her pupae has darkened a lot, I decided to check her a bit earlier just so I know when the workers are going to eclose and that they won't have to starve until the next Friday which means they might eat their brood (I've experienced it before). And guess what? I saw three workers! And they are tiny, only about 2-3mm long.

Not much going on right now, the only updates are: Monomorium has a new worker, Anochetus now has about 6-8 workers and the queen laid a few more eggs, and Camponotus irritans now has at least 30 workers, unfortunately, mites still present, due to lockdown I couldn't afford anything to stop the mites.

Sadly, Anochetus is also confirmed to have mites, as you saw in my previous post, I couldn't buy anything to kill the mites. But, since many of the other ant colonies with mites are still alive and well (in fact, C. irritans has mites when the colony only has 12-14 workers and now the colony has at least 30 workers), the mites may not be lethal to them.

Here's the pics:

Monomorium, the colony currently has six workers and for some reason, they positioned the eggs quite far away from the rest of the brood, possibly due to humidity.

Camponotus irritans, this is how big this colony is now.

Unfortunately, one of the Crematogaster queens didn't make it, guess she was infertile.

Yeah, especially since Crematogaster is not very easy to find in where I live.

My dad went to my grandma's house yesterday and he caught a small, black Polyrhachis queen! She still has wings on but let's hope she's still a fertile queen. :)
