Last night I arrived in Florida to visit family.when I arrived there porch light was on and a TON of pheidole queens and males were there and a bunch were wingless. I caught two to take some photos. Now I do follow the USDA’s laws and I resolved to let green go but. releasing them that night would mean getting a lot of bugs all over the house. The next day I went to release them and they booth had broke of their wings. This made it really really hard to release them because pheidole are really cool and my favorite species. But when I was outside and releasing them I saw a trachymermex queen or a fungus growing queen D: and It couldn’t be atta because she was too small. I will be updating everything I find so enjoy watching me struggle with ants.

I found a Pseudomyrmex gracilis queen AHHH. I also found a brachymermx patigoncus queen but I don’t really care about her.

Yeah I really wish I got a permit because the only pheidole species in Maryland is tysoni and they fly in a month.

The pseudomyrmex is a worker, not a queen. Pseudomyrmex stopped flying a while ago i think

Pretty sure I see wing scars. And they're definitely not done flying.

Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.

YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): Camponotus irritans inferior, Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, Nylanderia sp., Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

Well it rained yesterday. I saw a the queens from the windows probably saw 100+ brachymermx queens while I was outside. Now I can only think about a huge super colony haha. I saw some surprisingly beautiful fire ant queens.
