I have two queens that I found under rocks (yes I made sure they were alone) they bolth have laid eggs. I was wondering about there founding I know they are fully claustral but if they can’t preform trophallaxis then how would they feed the larvae? Just curious.
My favorite queens/colony’s:
Pheidole Tysoni, Selonopis Molesta, Brachymyrmex Depilis, Tetramorium Immagrians, Prenolepis Imparis, Pheidole Bicirinata

I have never thought about that before. Maybe queens can but workers can't?

Aphaenogaster are fully claustral, so no feeding is required. I'm pretty sure they regurgitate a special liquid to feed their first brood, like other fully claustral queens, even if they don’t have a social stomach.

Maybe since queens and males are basically the "true form of ants" they can do trophallaxis like any other eusocial insect, but workers can't since they're like the "deformed" or "lesser" versions of queens and males since they have no wings. I mean, think about it, wasp and bee workers have wings but ant workers don't, surely they have to be some lesser version of the queens and males who do have wings.
Aphaenogaster are fully claustral, so no feeding is required. I'm pretty sure they regurgitate a special liquid to feed their first brood, like other fully claustral queens, even if they don’t have a social stomach.
Thanks, and are you ants Manitoba?
he's not

I’m guessing she feeds her larvae trophic eggs
