Healthy looking brood pile! Looks like they are doing well.

Thanks man, really hoping they start laying eggs again soon

Little update:
The queen still hasn’t laid any eggs which is slightly concerning but I’ll give it time. The brood pile is still doing great and we have some massive larva on the way and most of the smaller larva are growing steadily. All of the ants are fat and full of food now as well. Overall the colony is doing great!

These gals are already back into their habit of growing super quick! We have two pupa and a new batch of eggs and the larva are all progressing very well.

Lots of pictures of brood

Nice growth, could you get a full nest image? I'm guessing you have them in an Antshack nest?

Hey y’all so this update is more of a smaller one but basically the ants are still doing great and they are taking lots of protein. They have a batch of probably 40-60 eggs and then 20-30 larva and 10-20 brood. I also am going to start building them a large wood nest in the hopes of keeping them in it for the rest of this year. I will be documenting that on this thread. In other news I recently got to borrow a macro Lens from my teacher so I have so pretty decent pictures rn just have to get them uploaded I’m hoping to post pictures soon. Anyway happy march 1st everyone!

What kind of wood are you planning to use? I've always found wood nests interesting, but worry about how gross they get/containment issues.

Well I’m planning on using several pieces of wood and gluing them together with safe glue and then carving out the chambers and such. Then I will add and plexiglass top by screwing it in very tightly. My hope is that the different layers will add ventilation for the ants and it will make it easier to carve out. I will have 3-4 ports 1-2 for water reservoirs and 2 for outworlds and possible nest extensions. Also here are some pictures :)

It’s been awhile since the last update and that because it’s just been progression as normal so far. Nothing really to record. Only thing is that they have been very protein hungry lately. I feed them 3 super worms at a time and they have finished them within a day or two.

Alrifht it’s been a minute but I thought I should update. They have been growing pretty well and are up to about 175 works five or take a few. I feed them 2 super worms every couple of days and refill there water and sugar water whenever it’s low. Other than that there doing well.
