How do I get my ants to go into the outworld?

My Formica queen that I got from Tahoe a few months ago, just got her new workers a few days ago. They don't appear to be going into the outworld of the mini hearth they are in right now. I don't think they even know it exists. What can I do to encourage them to forage there?

My Formica generally don't have a lot of workers roaming at any given time. They only come out when help is needed. Other than that it's just the odd one here or there and my colony is probably two hundred. As a small test tube colony they barely came out at all. Ants know what they want. Patience is key.

My Crematogaster on the other hand are always roaming the outworld in quite high numbers.

Thanks for the information. I have really only kept small species that end to roam around in the outworld at all times in large numbers, like tetramoirum, pheidole, and monomorium. So I am not familiar with the behavioral patterns of a speicies like Formica. Sp.
