I mean like. I didn't want this to get this in depth. All I wanted to do is give him a short answer. But I'll stay quiet now. He can PM cheeto if it doesn't work.

They generally are a lot more interested in protein than sugar. My queen accepted anything from a cricket leg to a springtail (though she had the best reaction when I fed her the springtail). I fed my queen pretty much only protein.

Also Long Lasses might be a better name (seeing as lad is generally used to describe a young man and workers and queens are females).

Fixed! Also, do you think they'd eat a baby mealworm?
They might. You’ll want to cut it open.
I'll try this. Should I give them an outworld? Or do they forage under rocks? Like I said, some workers do seem to want to leave the test tube and forage. Sorry if I'm bombarding you with questions btw :D
I generally only find them under rocks but they are not always the easiest ants to find, so I’m sure they forage elsewhere.

if you know where they are its easy to find them

yeah, i noticed they didn't have good traction on the tube so i gave them a little bit of sandy soil.  ik when they're hungry because workers go up to the cotton and try to wiggle their way out.  when full they chill near the water side under the cotton with the queen.

No problem!  I might give them some more dirt just for hydration.

Also, question, for the outworld can I just have a then layer of hydrostone, or do I have to do something else to prevent them from nesting in it...?

A thin layer of hydrostone in a container would be a fine outworld I'm sure.

I've kinda obsessed over Ponerinae...  My next target species is either Stigmatomma pallipes or Brachyponera chinensis.  If I do find other Ponerinae species I'll make this journal for all of them

So originally I planned on giving them a Petri dish set up... I guess not anymore!  Apparently they took it to themselves to carve their own chamber inside of the cotton.  These pictures are a bit old and they now expanded it large enough to fit all three workers comfortably (and new eggs!  hopefully the current workers stay around long enough to help feed the soon to be larvae).  If I get more pics I'll send them later.
