Recently I captured a queen ant in southwestern Iowa. I was hoping for some help identifying it and also the eggs haven’t grown and it has been about a week and a half since they were laid. Should I be worried? I put them in a standard test tube with honey water. I can’t figure out how to add a picture but the queen is about 5/16” long and is black with some grey stripes on her gaster.

1: The test tube has to be normal water. She will die without it.

2: Take a picture with your phone and join formiculture through an app called tapatalk. just respond to this thread with the photo.

3: it takes about 2-3 weeks for eggs to hatch into larva.
