This is a journal for a queen I caught, Solonopsis Invicta or Invicta x Richteri. I will always reply to questions, and post an update and pictures once a week or if anything interesting happens. I do not have a good camera, however. Here are some examples.

Are you sure that's invicta? The shape of it looks a bit different then invicta.

I can’t wait to see this in a few months when there are hundreds!

Well it could be S. invicta x richteri, which is a hybrid so it might look different.

You'd have to ask TennesseeAnts, that's who I heard about them from. I guess they are very common around where he lives.

I addressed at the top that it could be Invicta or Invicta x Richteri, but it would have been to long to put that in the title.

I personally think and hope that it is x Richteri.

Your queen is definitely S. invicta x richteri. Pure S. invicta should be bright red, wheras the hybrid will be black with orange. There's really no difference between the two other than color.

Ok, I trust your opinion. It is Solonopsis Invicta x Richteri, and I think having a hybrid ant colony will be cool.

No, this isn't like a ship name for a couple. It is species x species for hybrids.

Yeah, 'inverti' is just a pet name some people on discord made up, iirc.

First Weekly Update: There is maybe 5-10 eggs, in a mostly neat pile at the back of the test tube. I will not be posting photos, as with my camera quality you can barely even see them, but I am almost sure they are eggs. There are no other changes.

I should also note that I could have missed another pile, this was just the most obvious one I saw.

Upon closer examination in brighter light, the brood pile is more like 20 eggs.

I cannot do a weekly update next week, because of a weeklong trip, but I will be doing a makeup update 8 days from now. Hopefully, we will have gotten some larvae by then.
