Hey. I haven't been on the site for a while. A friend got me started here and helped write a (cringe) introduction. They also found me an ant and gave it to me, it's around 7mm in length. Sort of red-brown with a black abdomen. I'm in Nova Scotia. Sorry about the blurry-ish pic. If you know the species, can you please tell me a bit about it? Aha sorry I'm quite new to ant keeping. Thanks!

Edit: They* found it on a sunny day right after a rainy day. Also there were a few others nearby I think

Camponotus worker. Sadly not a queen, but this genus is flying now!

You should probably let them know that the ant they gave you is a worker. That way they won't make the same mistake.
