Hello members of the forum. I have found an ant recently and i believe it is a red ant not a black one. Is it a queen ant or king? It is about 2 mm in length and i hope to start a colony. I will keep it an ant nest i found on amazon that comes with sand. I believe it is an uncle milton nest.

I would suggest a gel farm for you. They are great for beginners, and for ants! The cute red ants that come with them are super friendly and love to be handled. They do NOT sting.
What the hell? What does this solve? None of that is true. Your post is:

a)super unnecessary
b)in violation of forum rules

I apologize for breaking the rules. The post was meant to be a sarcastic joke but it contributed nothing to the forum.

idk where i got this information inside my head from. but as i know there's many different types of ants and the red type is poisonous

Not completely false. Although they'd be venomous, not poisonous. There's thousands of species of ants with red coloration, all of which are different in many ways.

Location?

Size?

General description other than "red"?

Habitat it was found in?

a little bit of research? (not joking, a little googling can go a long way)

Definitely spam. Everybody knows there are only four types of ants in the world: big black, little black, big red, and little red ants.

Gel farms absolutley are awful and mold very easily.

It was sarcasm. Everyone here knows how bad they are. This thread should probably be moved to the Sandbox.

Yeah, one of the most pathetic threads I’ve seen in a while, and that’s saying something! What happened to this forum?

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

How did you fall for it, and why did you post here if people explicitly said not to? Don't answer this so the thread dies.
