Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): ★ Camponotus irritans inferior, ★ Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, ★ Nylanderia sp., ★ Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), ★ Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

Definetly a queen, but, is it just me, or does it seem too large for a Myrmica? maybe it's Manica rubida?

I have a colony of Myrmica Rubra and this queen seems to be slightly smaller. I'll check what's flying around atm and come back.

It’s definitely a myrmica species of some sort. Good luck finding the exact species though, as they are almost impossible to ID without a microscope.

Just updating, she has laid about 10 eggs since I caught her. Vicious creature but such a loving mother
