Just dismantle the formicarium and aspirate the ants, or dump them into a new nest.

Follow Manitobants’ advice. Then seal the glass and any escape routes with 100% silicone. On the other hand, I’ve sealed gaps with silicone even with ants in the formicarium, and no harm came to them.
No offense, but I don’t think pawning off an escaping colony on someone else is really the best idea.

Don't sell them (i mean can if you want to), it will take at max 2 hours to just dump them out into a tub with a tube attached then fix the formicarium and then connect the tube in the tub back to the formicarium. If you do all that in one sitting it won't take long. I highly incourage you try this instead of selling. Anyways it is an amazing colony.

The thing is that their main escape route is the water reservoir. If I seal that then I wouldn't be able to hydrate their nest. I've sealed every nook and cranny I can but they somehow keep escaping.

I just got home and there are ants all over my desk. I've take many measures over the course of a month and I honestly don't want to deal with this anymore. I've had ants crawling on me in bed and I'm fed up. I never had a problem with any other formicariums and other colonies.

If I don't have any takers by this weekend I'm going to put them in the fridge for a few minutes to slow them down and dismantle their nesting area in the tunnels and dump them in their new enclosure. If they end up escaping again I'll have no choice but to freeze them if no one can take them.

It's not something I want to do but I cannot continue to have ants crawling and biting me in the middle of the night.

You definitely need a THA formicarium designed for tiny species. Even a bunch of test tubes in a tub would work. I hope you can figure it out.

Yeah, I used this formicarium for my tetramorium, but they all escaped. I would use others advice and dump them into a tubs and tubes setup

I’ve never heard anyone have a good experience with these eBay plastic formicariums. Go THA or DIY, that’s it.

Line a large bin with fluon, place several test tube setups in there, then place the entire nest in there and remove the glass, they'll start trying to move out and eventually they'll move into the tubes
