Hey guys, once again I am in need of your assistance, deciding which species this queen belongs to.I know the pictures are not as good as they could be but this is the best I can do at this moment.Thank you for checking this thread :)
1. Location:Near Alexandroupoli (Northern Greece)
2. Date of collection: 24 of May
3. Habitat of collection: Lots of low ground vegetation, habitat almost untouched by humans
4. Length (from head to gaster):about 1.8 cm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:She is mostly black but her mandibles and legs have an orange tint that is not clearly depicted in the pictures
6. Distinguishing characteristics: She has one leg cut off
7. Distinguishing behavior:She wasn't really responsive once she went in the tube but today after giving her some sugar water, she started cleaning herself
9. Nuptial flight time and date:24th of May 7-8 pm on an unusually hot day

Her head reminds me of a lasius niger queen I have, just saying..Thank you for checking this thread:)(sorry for the bad pics)

I'm probably wrong at this, but looks like Lasius.  Also if it's being laggy only click the post button once :)  highlight your message and reload the home page to see if it posted, if not paste it into a new thread again and try again.  It's a bit much but it helps prevention of clogging the forums.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

You should really give her more test tube space.

Not really. The amount of space shown is definitely too small for when she ends up getting workers, as liometopum usually have massive first broods, but smaller spaces work fine with founding lioms. If anything it's better.
