Harvester ant care (pogonomyrmex badius)

Ill be gettting my hands on some pogonomyrmex badius queens soon and would like some advice on how to care for harvester ants, any info would be appreciated.

You probably know this already, but the main food source of  Pogonomyrmex is seeds. I've found that they love dandelion seeds are their favorite. Aso, feed them a mix of sugars like honey and hummingbird nectar. keep their nest relatively dry, because their a desert species. Good luck with them!


Ants are Pets, not Pests. 

 

-Camponotus sansabeanus

-Camponotus US-CA02

-Camponotus vicinus

-Formica podzolica

-Monomorium spp.

-Pogonomyrmex californicus

-Solenopsis spp.

Actually Pogonomyrmex need fairly humid nests. At least P. occidentalis do.
