Myrmentoma group Camponotus queen. Either C. nearcticus or C. caryae; we will probably need stronger magnification to determine the exact species.

1. Location of collection: Hobart, Indiana, United states
2. Date of collection: May, 22, 2021
3. Habitat of collection: Grassy backyard with lots of pine and oak trees and summer flowers  {Like you imagine grandmothers perfect summer yard}
4. Length (from head to gaster): . About 1 centimeter or just about the length of a new eraser on a pencil
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:  Glossy brown with hints of red
6. Distinguishing characteristics: ???
7. Distinguishing behavior: Unknown
8. Nest description: Unknown

9. Nuptial flight time and date: 11pm on May, 22 is when i found her walking around looking for a spot to start her nest.

Thank you for your help.
The template helps everyone and makes sense. I don't know why people don't use it.
