Well it's not Pilifera so there could be only one other species that I could've possibily caught.

May I ask how you came to that conclusion?

Well the only species of pheidole that is verified to be in MA is P. pilifera, and this isn't P. pilifera so It has to be the species that is one state away. Ants don't know state borders.

What are you using to attempt to take those pictures? Most people have a phone better than mine, a Samsung S5, and even without a macro lens I can get(no offense) considerably better photos. For taking a photo with your phone, position a flashlight at a 45 degree angle to the tube, and take the photo from a 90 degree angle, holding the phone about 3 inches away. Do not use flash.

I have an iPhone5. Haha

 

iPhone SE passed down from my mom to my sister to me, my phone is almost out of space filled with ants and my old dog

Oh, It's not pilifera because they are the wrong shape-it will be hard to explain this but their shape is different. This looks exactly like P. bicarinata.
