Is this pheidole? I to the western part of MA to find pheidole, and I found a camponotus queen, and a small colony of what looks like a pheidole colony. Idk if it is though. Here are pics:

It looks like P. bicarinata but idk if they would be in MA. (Just to let you know I was in western MA)

Wow!! Idk what do say. I never thought I would find any pheidole here in MA, but I guess I got really lucky.

Idk how I found P. bicarinata. I mean it's not like ants know borders of states.


And New York has them.

What are you using to attempt to take those pictures? Most people have a phone better than mine, a Samsung S5, and even without a macro lens I can get(no offense) considerably better photos. For taking a photo with your phone, position a flashlight at a 45 degree angle to the tube, and take the photo from a 90 degree angle, holding the phone about 3 inches away. Do not use flash.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies. 

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

A webcam-My small 4k camera is better but it isn't working right now.

Well it's not Pilifera so there could be only one other species that I could've possibily caught.
