Hi,
I caught this Camponotus ant in my pool this evening in Massachusetts. She has orange legs and a somewhat orange gaster. I have never seen her before, and was wondering if someone could ID her. Also, does anyone know what she is doing in one of the pictures when she is on top of her gaster?
I have pictures attached below.
Thanks so much!

After further research I believe it’s Camponotus Americanus, what do you guys think?

We need better images. Also, please follow the ID template.
Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
