Antwiki has a nice overview. For US check out their US species identification keys

Antweb is also good, albiet harder to navigate for a beginner.

As already mentioned, antwiki is useful for looking up info on species, as well as keys. Antmaps.org is good for checking the distribution of species and what species occur in your area. The only downside is that it only accounts for native species. Antweb.org is harder to learn to navigate, but my preferred source. It allows you to compare specimens and check what species occur in an area.

I looked on the US species identification keys and there seemed to be no Camponotus sp. key
