Hello, I have a tapinoma sessile colony and I recently brood boosted them from another colony. They killed the workers that came with them (they are the same sp and tapinoma will combine colony’s) but excepted the brood. Sience then I have been seeing a few killing workers and placing them in the graveyard. I do know they are Hungary as I was away for a week but they had a supppy of sugar water and ham and protein jelly. Anyone know why this is happIng it is worrisome. They do have a little bit of mold in there nest but that is probably not a factor.

Is it possible they were simply rejected? I get it that T. sessile can merge colonies, but surely, there must be times when the ants just don't accept eachother.

Um, uh, Ants!

I honestly don’t think this species is worth the trouble to keep. Who is Gary, by the way?
"The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Prov. 30:25
Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.
