I moved the colony into the Hydrostone testing prototype of the formicarium I'm designing. Unfortunately it looks like about another 50 workers died while they were in the tub for a few days. I'm not sure what caused this, but it seems my Veromessor kind of did the same thing.
 

 

Doesn't hydrostone expand when drying? How did you make this without breaking the plastic?

This was formed and then bolted to the plastic.

Funny, I never discontinued this thread. These were either sold or died off years ago.

What are some tips on catching this species? Like location, time of day, etc.
