My prenolepis have lots of workers now. Can't wait for next spring!
I put my formica in hibernation last week, and I'm planning to do the same with most of my other colonies. I hope everybody had a good thanksgiving!
I have sad news: My Formica queen died when I took the colony out of hibernation It was fun raising them from just the queen. I don't know what I did wrong so it doesn't happen again.
The rest of my colonies and pets are doing good though.
All my ants are doing well, but I wonder when prenolepis start laying eggs. I love feeding my Nylanderia too, they all come out and swarm the food. Can't wait for this anting season!
I think the queens usually start laying two-three weeks after you catch her

I caught her last year, but when do they start laying after hibernation. She already has 6 workers from last year.
Oh my bad, from my expierences, they shouls start to lay within 2 weeks. Basicly the same as when you just caught her
Ok thanks. I keep watch and I can't wait for the next generation of workers!
