So I’ve had an aphidacola queen with four lasius workers for about a month and a half. She initial had 10 but ended up killing some and some drowned. About a month ago I doced to give them some pupae that I had collected from outside. They accepted the pupae and and this week one eclosed. However it was a male >:(. But the queen seemed to like the presence of the male because she divide to lay a few eggs lol. So that is where I am now I didn’t think she would lay eggs because it had two months but she did! That is why I didn’t make a journal. They also have a medium sized larvae that could have came in with the pupae but I would have thought it would have turned into a pupae.
The larvae is on the left next to the queens head.

She should have probably had at least 20 hosts. I also doubt the reason she laid eggs was due to the presence of a male.

Yea I know I learned that they needed 20+host to late so I’ll have to find more pupae for them.
