Myrmica species. They are semi-claustral so she was probably foraging.

Well, after a pretty unimpressive walk through the forest, on my way back home I managed to stumble upon a queen, but not the protected parasitic Formica that fly now or Camponotus fallax but, well, something that I have no idea what is.

1. Location of collection: Mazovia

2. Date of collection: 09/05/21
3. Habitat of collection: Sidewalk near a mixed forest
4. Length: very small
5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture: Dark brown/ dark red, orange legs, heavy pilosity of the gaster
6. Distinguishing characteristics: two petiole nodes, two spines, roughly 12-11 antennal segments,
7. Anything else distinctive: N/A
8. Nest description: could not find nest.

9. Nuptial flight time and date: Unkown/Not sure
10 .

I'm really stumped, it's definetly something in Myrmicinae, but nothing of them except like, one Tetramorium species, should be flying now.

Um, uh, Ants!

Huh, that was a lucky find then because she's probably already hibernated!, do you think she will lay?

Also, am ordering crickets, fruit flies, and a outworld right now!

She probably won't lay until she gets some sugar and protein. Feed her often but little at a time.

Aight, I'll get her some fruit flies the moment they arrive ( so, 2 days ), I'll try to give some honey for now.

Edit: I have given her the smallest drop of honey I could make, diluted with two drops of water, she will not drown in it right?

She’ll probably by fine.

Alright, I'll take it out tomorrow, just in case.
