Hi, please help me identify this colony of ants I have grown. They are either Camponautus modoc or Camponautus Pennsilvanicus. :D

This belongs in Ant ID Requests, not in the place this was posted. And I'm not sure you can make an ID with that video. All it takes to narrow the two down is location in most cases.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

We need the location they were found, the video is too blurry to tell give an ID, and this was posted in the wrong section.

C. Modoc usually have very pronounced red legs, and usually more golden hairs covering their abdomens, which leads me to the conclusion of C. Penncylvanicus.

Ants are Pets, not Pests.

-Camponotus sansabeanus

-Camponotus US-CA02

-Camponotus vicinus

-Formica podzolica

-Monomorium spp.

-Pogonomyrmex californicus

-Solenopsis spp.
