I caught around 15 of these queens yesterday they were absolutely everywhere, i made 4 single queens setups in mini test tubes and one two queen colony,a four queen colony, and a eight queen colony, so far the queens are getting along. I've even seen them grooming each-other. There isn't much information about the keeping of these guys, i will try to keep this jornal updated and mabye even make a care sheet on them.

That's awesome. Where do you live, and what were the conditions of the flight?

Nice finds!  Can I see some photos?  I love Nylanderia, I dunno why, it's just of those gut feelings, you know?  Make sure to tell us if they lay eggs, too!

That's cool. What part of Maryland are you in? I'll have to be on the lookout for these.

I don't think nylanderia is polygenous, at least mine isn't. The last time like a year ago when I had a different colony, I put 2 queens in, and one was ripped apart. Idk though your species might be different.

I have nylanderia parvula.

Update on the 8 queen colony 1 queen is dead no idea what happened to her. Seems 3 have formed a colony with a huge pile of eggs. The rest are not really with them. I’ll make sure to update you all in about a week.

Ok! The queen definitely has some larvae now she is so tiny I really wouldn’t be able to tell if she had pupae :T . I moved her to a much much warmer room so she should speed up in development.

Looks like she’s got pupae! I honestly can’t tell because her brood is on the white cotton. I guess I won’t know until those super awesome orange workers eclose :D

Her egg pile is quite large *behind the larvae there must be 20-30 eggs i didn’t know nylanderia were so prolific. I also noticed the eggs are a light orange color too not sure if that is normal. The second picture is what is left if the 8 queen colony there’s guys are NOT proligonist. I couldn’t find any info on them though
