Nice update! Also, I heard that weaver ant colonies grow very fast (egg to worker takes slightly under a month). I've always wanted to keep this species (funny thing is that I have been ant keeping for nearly 3 years now and I still don't know much about their care)
Yes they do grow fast! A colony can reach 1000+ workers in 8 months! And that last part makes sense. 3 years of reasearch is way too little time. I have been doing reasearch on weaver ants at the age of 7 and I still am improvising setups. And I'm 12 so that was 5 years of unsuccessful reasearch

Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes):
★ Camponotus irritans inferior, ★ Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, ★ Nylanderia sp., ★ Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), ★ Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (
Myrma)
cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly
Zatapinoma)
Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.
