I'm a little too old for a Ninja Turtles theme birthday party, but my kids thought up this fun idea for my birthday cake. Ant theme! Pretty decent brood pile...

Seems like some sort of Formica, but the antennal scapes are way too short.

That's awesome! What a great brood pile, too. (I mean I guess they COULD have tried to source escamol but that might be a little tooooo realistic.)

I think that formicarium is honestly the most delicious-looking one I've ever seen. And my iPhone has tried to convince me that formicaria ARE edible, based on the last "food compilation" video it made for me....
