I've been keeping Velvet Ants for a while now, and I think I want to dip my toes into the water of breeding them. Have any of you ever bred them before? If so, what was your setup? Are there any local solitary wasp/bee species near me that'd make good brood?

I’d say try with grubs like black soldier flys. Other then that check out Arachnoboards. They have a thread somewhere on there.
Currently: Considering moving to Australia
Reason: Myrmecia

Just read about that post, it gives me both a little hope and a bit of a disheartening feeling.

After further research, it seems with a few exceptions, none of which are in my area, they only target solitary bees or wasps. Are there any good solitary bees or wasps in my area that would make acceptable hosts?

I am going to make this simple, it's not gonna happen in a captive environment.
