So, I've found a Centipede on my house's floor and captured it, and took some photos before letting it go, and wanted to post the pictures here because 1. Centipede, and 2. Wanted to ask how do they look.

big picture.

Close up 2.

Lastly, I have a small video, but I can only post it as a link.

Anyway, that's all the photos from me, but I noticed there is no General Invertebrate photo thread where we can show off our non-ant photos, so, if anybody wants to use this thread, I'd be honored.

I've found these outside before. I don't know their scientific name but I believe the common name is garden centipede. About their being no general invert thread, I did make a macro photography thread, but it wasn't used much.

Ah ok, in any case I'll use this place for any non-ant invertebrate photos because I don't want to flood the forum with essentially copies of the same thread.

I've found a beetle on my floor, took a photo before releasing it into the wild, I have no idea about the species though.

That's a good photo. Unfortunately I have to crop my photos to get decent close ups and they end up looking all grainy. Thankfully I have a large invertebrate to get decent photos of. Here is a picture from months ago.

Try messing with light, that'll help pick up all the little details. Beetle is a dermestid and centi a lithobiomorph.

Quite an interesting one too. Porcellio or maybe Trachelipus, I'm unfamiliar with the European taxa.

Agreed, I find similar looking ones here, but I'm not experience with beetle taxonomy so I can't identify them.

The red thingy is a velvet mite I think. Also the crane fly I believe is actually a snakefly

Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.

YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): Camponotus irritans inferior, Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, Nylanderia sp., Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

Thanks! And man, there are so many "-fly" out there, I would have never thought that would be called snakefly, who even thought of that, I mean, with its long neck it looks more like a crane.
