By prepupae I assume you mean larvae?

Yes. Some of the major larvae have turned completely white. So I learned before from someone that when larva go into a complete white color where you can no longer see their stomach like that they're assumed as prepupae.

CheetoLord02 taught me what it meant and I was so confused when he first told me about prepupae but now I know.

Based on that definition it is just a blanket term for the larval stage some insects have before the pupal stage.

So... I forgot to update this journal the day that I promised I would.  So I'm very sorry. I do have some good news though! The majors are getting very close to the day that they'll start walking around! These ants are eating fruit flies like crazy! I hope you guys enjoy the photos! I will update this journal again when the majors turn orange!

Hey guys! It's been a very long time! I've been very busy lately as ants are starting to fly in Tucson again! I've finally come back bringing tidings of great joy! The Pheidole Hyatti are currently exploding! With more than 15 majors now I bet this colony will be at 500 workers by September! I've been feeding them a lot recently like termites from the mountains which they go crazy for! I'll leave you guys to see how great they're doing!

Hello guys! It's been a very, very, very, very long time... I've been very busy the last few months. But I have found some time today so I can post an update. The Pheidole Hyatti are doing great! I moved them into a little ant nest that has a wash that runs through the top which I'm very proud of. Unfortunately though... There's a chance that I'll have to close down this journal. I'll be moving to Michigan in a couple of months and unless if I can get a permit in time... It will be the end for this Hyatti colony. I am doing everything I can to get permits for my other ants too and I'm watching tutorials of how to file a permit. But I will show you guys how the Pheidole Hyatti are doing!

It's been a long time since I've updated these journals and all there is left is sorrow. The lone queen has now perished. She fought valiantly to keep her colony going but she couldn't keep going anymore and perished. I will try to get a queen this year of these from my old hometown Tucson, Arizona this summer and try a 3-queen colony and a dual queen colony if I acquire permits in time. I'm very sad about this all. Long live the queen.
