Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.

YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): Camponotus irritans inferior, Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, Nylanderia sp., Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

Can you make a Pogonomyrmex or maybe camponotus pennsylvanicus?

Or gigas ... or those fuzzy ants from South Africa

Starting this July I'm posting videos of my ants every week on youTube.

I like to make relaxing videos that capture the joy of watching ants.

If that sounds like your kind of thing... follow me >here<

Done in india ink and grease pencil, edited in Photoshop.

As a comic book artist we're expected to draw just about anything and ants are by far one of the most difficult subjects that I've attempted to portray. I still can't figure them out after observing them for years and using photo reference.

gallery_4140_2107_70329.jpg

I would like to explore more ant art beyond making formicaria like making an illustrated Antkeeper's Guide or graphic novel but I've got little time for all the stuff I'm doing now %)

This is an ant head I made out of Legos.  I’m not sure if it counts as art.  It is kind of based off of veromessor pergandei.

Hope you like it!

I did a bad drawing of a Haidomyrmecine ant.

I copied it from some other image, but you sorta need to before you can draw something properly.

At least I didn't trace it. : P
