Lasius Brood Not developing

My Lasius queen, which has been caught around 7-8 months ago still is at the brood stage. What's more strange to me is that the brood have been brood for about 6-7 months. Although I don't see these ants foraging these days, I do see native ants forage. 

 

Why is she at the brood stage? Its been quite a while. And what can I help her with? I check her every month, and besides from the fact that the test tubes a little moldy, their doesn't appear to be a problem.  


Queens I keep:

 

Camponotus sp.

Formica sp.

Unknown queen ant sp.

1 parasitic Formica queen!

did you ever hibernate them? it sounds like they're waiting for it to get cold before resuming development, as is normal in Lasius.

I had a winged L. neoniger queen last year that had eggs for almost five months with no development. I concluded she was unmated and gave up on her.

Yes, I did hibernate them in my garage until native ants started coming out.

Well if you haven’t seen those ants then maybe they have a longer period of dormancy.

Actually, scratch that. I saw the same Lasius foraging today. I was just too lazy to check the past few days. Oops....  :D
