OMG..... I gave my colony some honey and they drank for a straight 50 minutes! Atleast they got sugar.........
They have 6 larvea.
The larvea are growing prett fast. Now there are 4 big size larvea.
I am ordering a new formicarium for them, which I mentioned in another post. I am probably getting a mini hearth from tarheelants.
The colony is doing great. They almost have more pupae which is very exciting. I keep expecting these first 2 nanitics to die off soon, but they lasted since last October which is crazy. If nanitics live this long in Formica than the workers must live even longer.
I will post pics of them after a while because I don't want to disturb them too much.
My Formica colony has pupae! I had low hopes for the queen when I caught her back in August because the queen didn't lay for a few weeks, but now she has a healthy growing colony I'll expect the second generation of workers soon!

Also the pupae are actually cocoons. I guess the nanitics just couldn't make a cocoon.
When do tetramorium fly.

now there are 2 pupae!
I can't wait for the next generation of workers coming in a few days!
No new workers yet but they are getting close!
Last post here before I move this journal to https://www.formicul...al/#entry186311. My formica test tube ran out of water so I moved them to a fresh one.
