I forgot to post this here on FC:
"Hi! Would you like to help out with an ant research project at UC Berkeley? We are sequencing genomes and analyzing pheromones of the winter ant, Prenolepis imparis, from across California. We have already collected from sites around the SF Bay Area, but we could use your help collecting workers from farther north and south. In addition, live males or queens from any location would also be super helpful. In return, you would have our eternal gratitude, we would acknowledge your contribution in the resulting publication, and we will send you a cool pin and/or sticker with our lab logo. If you think you can help out or if you have any questions, please Prof. Neil Tsutsui at ntsutsui@berkeley.edu. Thank you!"
In fact, anyone in the Bay Area, he is slated to meet some of us TODAY (South Bay, 3:30pm) to pick up Prenolepis reproductives. If you happen to see this in time you can PM me.
