I am brand new to the hobby and am attempting to purchase a nest and outworld to get going. I have tried to buy from a Canadian company and an Australian one with no success. I have tried via debit card and Google pay. Both sites are declining my card. Any US places aside from tar heels to purchase from?

Hello! welcome to the forum and to the hobby! you'll find a lot of really cool people here to share information and resources with. I highly recommend Drews nests when they are available. Tarheel is the only other US based producer that I know of.

What kind of nest are you looking for? There are several other sellers in the US, and there are those who can custom make nests as well.

Have you taken a look at any of the formicariums available on Etsy? Make sure to do your research first, but I’ve seen several that are really nice.

I wouldn’t recommend buying ants from Etsy though. There are quite a few folks on there that are shipping ants across state lines when they shouldn’t be and you don’t want to get into trouble. (I can speak from experience, I recently was made aware of an illegal purchase I made and canceled right away)
