What are the best resources to help identify an ant? I am new to anting and have come across numerous species that I would like to identify. I have posted on the ID forum before, but would like to figure out how to ID them myself. I am located in southeast US (georgia).
Thank you in advance.

I find being familiar with as many species as possible to be the best. I do this by going on antmaps, or Inaturalist, and looking at the species in a certain area, and then research each of those species. I then move on to another area and repeat the process.
To ID species using an external source, you can use the keys found on Antwiki, and if you have a microscope, can figure it out with those. I personally prefer my method, as it is a lot faster for most species.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
