So, in biology class today we learned about Protists, and Fungi is classified in the family of Protists. And our teacher told us that there is this Fungus called, Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis that apparently can grow off of ants, which gets into their brain, and turns them into "Zombie Ants." Thought that was interesting.

I've heard of these, I've always thought it would be interesting to try and "grow" them by introducing workers into a set up with their spores so I can show my friends zombie ants, don't know if anyone else thinks that'd be cool.

I'd rather not kill any ants.

Just because they are common? Just because a species is successful that doesn't mean you have the right to massacre them with parasitic fungus of all things.

No, because I hate Tetramorium.  I mentioned it being common because it means I could easily access wild ones.  (Tetramorium atratulum I want though lol)

Hating something is no reason to massacre it either.

Very true, however the chances of me actually getting the fungi is very low, so you don't really have to worry about me giving tetramorium to fungi (also I didn't know they grow that fast, I thought they were more slow which is easier)

Honestly the main reason I was trying to stop you from potentially doing that if you had the fungus, was that it could spread to other species via the spores and if you did it inside of your home then that could spread to your colonies too.
